RackSpace fosters OpenStack community to challenge Amazon’s Cloud API

This is a very cool move by RackSpace (and others - RightScale, etc.) to widen the options for companies that are planning to adopt cloud computing. And it could have some serious long term impact on the future of private cloud implementations. "Do you want an Amazon API for your private cloud - like what Eucalyptus is offering? Or do you want an open source API for your private cloud?" Assuming that the implementation is on par with Amazon - most companies would probably go open source. We shall see...
