Package & Deployment Automation
Solution Description – These solutions handle the actual deployment of the code and other application artifacts onto target machines. This part of the release event process can be a mixture of manual and automated steps or it can be highly automated depending on the organization and the target environment. However, this step in the process is only one out of many manual and automated steps for a true end-to-end release event activity into an environment. Additionally, pre-production environments are generally less automated than production environments and as a result require slightly different implementations which can be difficult to manage and maintain.
StreamStep’s Integration
- StreamStep fills the gap between all of your manual and automated activities that are participating in a release event.
- StreamStep provides an end-end solution which encompasses both manual and automated steps in a flexible automation framework.
- At runtime, StreamStep can easily vary the release event implementation depending on the target environment – QA has a different process than Test which is different than Production.
- StreamStep integrates by kicking off the existing scripts/automation solution.
- StreamStep has a rich and dynamic application model which captures the parameters necessary to drive automation and passes this information into the provisioning solutions to decrease errors and increase automated deployment throughput.
