Release Coordinator – A critical, emerging role

Agile development has dramatically increased the volume and complexity of release events. More pieces of code, more frequently deployed, have delivered huge value to customers and business stakeholders.

But the success of agile development has not come without growing pains.  It has created a bottleneck in the area of release coordination.  This impacts productivity and results in releases that are error-prone, subject to failure – and it has left development teams scrambling to find a solution.

To address the release bottleneck, development teams are hiring for a new role, the Release Coordinator.  With this emerging position comes ownership of the release event process and the problems associated with the bottleneck.  A daunting task, to say the least.

The right person for the job is important.  But we continue to ask:  Why hire a Release Coordinator and not provide him with tools needed to be successful?

StreamStep SmartRelease is this tool. It is designed specifically to support the Release Coordinator.   Learn more.
